Brendon Colvert is a retired member of the Garda, who has been a member of IPA for over 38 years. In addition to his current role as Editor he previously served on the National Executive Committee as Youth Exchange Officer and as Treasurer.   

Brendon was first elected to the National Executive Committee in the early 1970’s where he worked diligently for the developing Section. Brendon was elected on to the NEC again in 1989 taking up the position of National Editor where he has, since then, led the drive for enhanced publications in Section Ireland.

IPA Journal, the magazine of Section Ireland, is testament to Brendon’s endeavours in that field. With the assistance of a dedicated team of correspondents this bi-monthly magazine is renowned for variety, colour and readership appeal, indeed it was published monthly for a period of almost nine years. Brendon is actively involved in the running of IPA in Lakelands Region, No. 8 and in the Westmeath ‘Uisneach’ Branch where he holds the elected position of Chairman on the Branch Committee, he also holds the position of Archivist for Section Ireland. He is an Honorary Life Member of the IPA and a qualified Journalist, as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists.
