David McEllin is House Secretary with IPA Section Ireland since the early 80s.  His portfolio is part of the Social Commission with responsibilities on all matters concerning accommodations.

There are now 6 top class accommodations on the books of the Ireland Section (whether owned or leased).  From modest beginnings with a mobile home purchased at Tramore in the 70s the first house was purchased at Cutbush, The Curragh in the midlands but this was sold and the present HQ in Dublin, a period residence at Glasnevin was purchased which has served the Section successfully and well since it’s inception with many guests being accommodated annually from home and abroad. The purchase of further properties followed on over the years, the latest acquisition being situated in Wexford in the South East corner of the country.  By looking at the map it will be seen that the accommodations are placed strategically at locations that offer a excellent facilities to the discerning traveller to our country in the context of scenery, mountain, lake and sea, with shopping entertainment and cuisine also included into the bargain, so that the visitor to our houses will get a good cross section experience of the Irish way of life, beauty of the countryside, culture and tradition.  The Irish have a reputation for being laid back and friendly and hopefully this too will be discovered on arrival.  We call it in the native Gaelic tongue ‘Cead Mile Failte’ ‘A Hundred Thousand Welcomes.

If you are a member of the IPA why not take a look at what’s on offer within IPA Ireland website.  Whether a short city break, or a holiday by the sea or indeed a cultural or sporting festivity in some city or town, a fishing, golfing or hill-walking outing, this is available with IPA through the accommodations.

All you have to do is apply!!
