IPA TRAVEL BUREAU

The Ireland section of the International Police Association is the only section worldwide to have its own travel agency.

IPA Travel Bureau is a licensed and fully bonded Travel Agency under the Transport (Tour Operators and Travel Agents) Act 1982 and is licensed by the Commission for Aviation Regulation.

IPA Travel Bureau offers discounts on all holidays abroad and at home to members of IPA.  The discount is subject to the commission or discount given to the Travel Bureau but be assured that whatever we receive by way of discount is passed on to our members.

Having selected the date and venue of your holiday, write, telephone, fax or e-mail the travel bureau giving your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and membership number (Garda number or pensioner’s personnel number) and details of the holiday or travel requirements.  Leave the rest to us and see how IPA Travel can work for you!

The IPA TRAVEL BUREAU also organises all travel for official IPA sponsored activities abroad e.g. the Seminars in Gimborn, Germany and the International 5 a side competitions.

TRAVEL SECRETARIES

Regional and Branch Travel Secretaries

Regional and Branch Travel Secretaries also organise trips and tours to meet with IPA members at home and abroad e.g. mini cruses and short shopping trips.  These trips are encouraged and supported.  Each of the 11 Regions can apply for a travel grant from the National Treasurer through their Regional Committee. You will find a list of Regional and Branch Travel Secretaries at the end of this page.

Even if a member does not book their holiday with the IPA Travel Bureau the National, Regional or Branch Travel Secretary will help and assist where possible with travel information and IPA contact names abroad.

IPA Sections abroad have asked that, in order to ensure that all visitors are catered for properly in the best spirit of friendship, they are given the following notice:

Individual visitors              6 weeks

Groups                            6 months

This notice enables local IPA Sections to organise the hosting visitors (if required) and the planning of an itinerary so that our members can meet other IPA members and derive maximum benefit for themselves and for the organisation. When travelling abroad don’t forget your IPA membership card and yearbook. The IPA network covers 56 countries worldwide and by simply producing either your membership card or the yearbook, you can secure access to services, premises and persons en route or at your destination.  At the back of the yearbook you can find names, addresses and telephone numbers of all Secretaries General and of Secretaries of the many IPA houses worldwide and also a list of guesthouses in Ireland offering special rates to members.

These names and addresses are also available in other sections of this Website.

IPA TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel Insurance IPA Members

Worldwide Travel Insurance inOne Step for IPA Members
Only €72*

Insurance is essential when we travel and yet it’s the last thing we think of when planning our trips and holidays.  In fact, most of us would take regular trips throughout Ireland without thinking about cover.

With so many options on the market these days, at varying prices, it can be a job in itself to get the cover you need at a reasonable price.

Brassington Insurance has the solution for IPA Members with a very competitively priced product to suit all.  Whether it’s cover for you, you and your partner or you and your family this policy is difficult beat.

The cover is annual, so ideal for those couples who manage to get away a number of times a year.

For the active, Winter Sports and Scuba Diving, up to 30 metres, are included at no additional cost.

This Worldwide policy covers trips throughout Ireland that include two nights pre-booked accommodation.

You can travel up to 45 days per trip and have the option to pay an additional premium to extend to 60 days should you wish.

Comparing this to other providers for example, where a couple would be asked to pay €69 plus an additional €37 for Winter Sports cover, a total of €106.   In addition, by comparison many of the benefits offered by others will not be as good.

As you will see in the table below, the benefits available through Brassington Insurance are excellent.
